One of our favorite Christmas movies, Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic.   The original How the Grinch Stole Christmas book was first published on November 24, 1957.  In 1966 a broadcast television special animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Initially appearing on December 18, 1966 for CBS, How the Grinch Stole Christmas quickly became a perennial favorite.

Here at GrinchStealing.com we grew up watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year.  As children it was one of the incredible seasonal viewing treats.  As we got older and attended college or military service, there were annual "will the Grinch steal Christmas parties."  Every year it turns out he did, but his heart grew 3 sizes bigger every year and he returned everything and sought repentance..  When we had children, they too were in love with the Grinch!

Not a single one of us could fathom a year without the Grinch.  Recent movie adaptions have never caught the magic that the original 1966 version did.  Maybe it is because the 1966 Grinch was both despicable and adorable.  Maybe is was Cindy being so cute or max being so lovable.
